Ahhhhh I finally figured it out how to put pictures in here <3

My loot from the a Star Wars meeting, exhibition & collector's market! Since I read a scene between Anakin and Palpatine I really wanted to buy the original trilogy novellization (I likeThe Phantom Menace so far!) and also picked a few comics while at it. And I especially loved this book about in-universe propaganda posters.

Also a Phase I trooper. Phase I trooper is a must. I love Phase I trooper armor and helmet: :<

Touken Ranbu was my previous almost 5 years long fixation before I returned back to Star Wars, and I'm definitely feeling that I don't have the same enthusiam as before (i haven't updated the game for... who knows. I can't even keep track of the new swords anymore). It didn't help that my favorite characters are not the popular ones among the audience so they barely released official merches for them. In any case, I always welcome a new addition to the franchise!

Touken Ranbu Kai is an anime series that came out in 2024. I watched the first episode last year around this time when it came out, but I didn't have proper subtitles back then that wasn't made with google translate (Sozo left character :D) so I never continued. Finally now I can watch it properly!

Each adaptation took a different approach in which aspect of the game to grab. But they sadly share the same tendency to water down the characters who could be potentially problematic. Souza Samonji and Kousetsu Samonji for instance who are one of the very few swords who don't simp over you being their masters. Or the most obvious changing is with Yamatonokami Yasusada who basically snapped after his journey, but I guess Hanamaru couldn't actually afford to have yandere characters where everything and everyone behaved cute.

What I really enjoyed in the game that everyone had a distinctive personality, different motivations, different fears, different approach to their current and previous masters, and with it, very intricate interpersonal relationships too. Not to mention the ship potentials...

While the stage plays also toned down the problematic parts of the characters, they still managed to give such deepness to them I remained invested in them all along. Suzuki Hiroki's Mikazuki will be my eternal Mikazuki. I LOVE the stage plays from which this anime is adapted from and if I hadn't watch Kyoden Moyuru Honnoji like 10th times, then I never watched it at all.

I probably have great expectations for this one.

The first episode was basically a quick summs-up what is this story is about: Swords manifested in human form by the mysterious Sage (you in the game), who send these heroes back the past to protect history and prevent the enemy Historical Revinionists to alter it. Also it was a big cameo-parade for lots of the characters. I have my ELEG4NT radar on, so I spotted my babys at instant. xD But ultimately it served to introduce the four Nobunaga-swords: Souza Samonji, Heshikiri Hasebe, Yagen Toushirou and Fudo Yukimitsu, as well as the current attendant, Mikazuki Munechika and the previous attendant, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro.

This won't be a full-scale review, my english is not that articulate lmao, but I just want to scream into the void with a very lengthy posts full with screenshots of my swordbois.
