I usually enjoy hyperfixating on things. I never get bored. This is why I can replay one part of Kyle Katarn's journey 1000x times, but somehow I just couldn't care for the others. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is my all time favorite Star Wars - and dare I say my favorite videogame too and Kyle Katarn shaped my taste in Jedi too. And while I know his backstory, and I never played the previous games, nor read the books related to it. So before continuing on Attack of the Clones I decided to do a little detour with the story of Kyle Katarn. Ex-Imperial Trooper, ex-mercenary, the guy who stole the Death Star plan's, Battlemaster of Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy and wielder of both Light and Dark Side of the Force.
The trilogy is based on the game of the same name Dark Forces, and it focuses on how Kyle left the Empire, met with his future mercenary partner Jan Ors, and overall how he got included with the Rebellion.
If you ever wondered why I have beef with Rogue One and Andor, Kyle Katarn is the reason. But I realized that maybe I have to finish Kyle's journey to accept that just because the new canon went to another direction, I can still enjoy my personal favorite Jedi whenever I want. And then maybe I can watch Rogue One and Andor without feeling I'm cheating on him or something. :DDD
